Engineering leader and Staff-level software engineer with 15 years of experience building and delivering production systems, leading engineering teams, and working directly with enterprise customers. Experience spans hands-on software architecture, cloud infrastructure, technical strategy, team leadership, and customer delivery across database, legal-tech and startup environments.
I’ve built software across public safety, fraud prevention, legal tech, and AI. From on-site deployments and performance testing through DevOps and day-to-day product engineering, I’ve worked across the full development cycle.
As a travelling MongoDB Consulting Engineer, I delivered training and helped customers with data modelling, performance testing and tuning, and incidents including data corruption. Engagements spanned banking, energy infrastructure, oil and gas, automotive, and manufacturing across Europe.
At Scout Climate, I led the engineering department: growing the team, setting technical direction, architecting the DevOps infrastructure, and leading the company through SOC 2 compliance while turning an early product into a platform.
Joined MinuteBox as a Staff Software Engineer, working across product engineering and engineering effectiveness. Alongside hands-on development, I’m helping introduce AI-assisted development practices to improve team velocity.
I joined shortly after the company spun out of Forum Ventures, initially working alongside the founder to turn complex government-grant requirements into an early product and technical platform. As the company grew, I led engineering, technical strategy, infrastructure, and delivery.
Joined a newly formed two-person product team within Kira Systems, building a new Go API product alongside the company’s existing Clojure platform. After that team spun out to form Zuva, I progressed to Staff Engineer, led technical delivery, and briefly managed an engineering team of approximately five people.
Worked directly with enterprise customers across Europe on architecture, performance, data modelling, migrations, and production issues. Engagements ranged from short technical workshops to longer-term consulting with organisations operating demanding, high-volume systems.
I began as a graduate engineer at Memex and progressed to Senior Engineer after the company became SAS R&D Scotland. The role ranged from public-safety deployments and performance testing to backend services for SAS Visual Investigator and event-streaming products.

I enjoy road-tripping across Canada with my dog and have been mapping the dog-friendly places worth staying at and visiting along the way. Paws & Provinces turns those field notes into practical, honest travel guides for people travelling with their best friend.
